Every chapter begins with a list in English of the topics and grammar subjects that will be in it. After that, you find a few dialogues, a wordlist, and some explanations about the expressions used in the text. Then the book moves on to explaining the grammar on which the reading text focusses. Some chapters also include an English text about Finnish customs. Every chapter ends with some exercises.

In each chapter, a new grammatical structure gets introduced, but they are are mostly divided by subject content - e.g. "A Visit to the Doctor", "Travel by Train and Bus", etc.

In the back of the book, all grammar subjects get explained once more, but in a way that almost resembles maths. After that, you find the solutions to the exercises, and a translation of the dialogues.

All in all, this is not a bad book. It just makes the grammar seem more complicated than it really is.

The book comes with 2 cassettes, but as I don't have a cassette player, I don't know if they are any good.
