Adverbs of Manner: Hitaasti, Helposti, Huonosti
There are many groups of adverbs. In this article, we will be focusing on adverbs that end in -sti and other adverbs of manner. This is the stereotypical adverb group, which expresses HOW something happens. You also have adverbs that express time, quantity and location. You can learn more about those in other articles.
1. Sti-Adverbs
Many adjectives can get the suffix -sti added to them to turn them into an adverb that expresses HOW something happens. The adjective will inflect the same way as it does in, for example, the genitive case (e.g. -as turns into -aa- ja -nen into -se-).

2. Other Adverbs of Manner
There are certain adverbs of manner (adverbs that express HOW) that don’t end in -sti. These adjectives are generally older and have maintained their old form. English has some adverbs that also work this way: “good” becomes “well” instead of “goodly” for example.

Oh! You can add -sti to (almost) all adjectives. It expresses HOW something is done or how something happens. You can use these in many sentences when the verb is something else than olla.
For example:
Sinä olet kaunis. > Sinä laulat kauniisti.
Hän on nopea. > Hän juoksee nopeasti.

There are only a few adjectives that can’t get -sti. For example, hyvä won’t become hyvästi, it becomes hyvin.
