Finnish Rections – Keneltä? Kenestä? Keneen?

This article goes over some Finnish rections that are related to people. They answer, for example, the questions keneltä, kenestä, keneen and kenelle.

I’m keeping the format of all my example sentences simple: the subject is always hän, and the verb is always inflected in the present tense. I also only use minä as the rection word: minulle, minusta, minuun. I’ve also tried to some extent to put the example sentences in order according to how easy or hard the verb in question seems to me.

Let’s take a look at what type of verbs need a keneltä, kenestä, keneen or kenelle rection!

Hi Inge,

In the first table it says:
“soittaa | Hän soittaa minulle joka päivä. | He called me every day.”

Would the present tense be more suitable for the English translation? i.e. He calls me every day.

Inge (admin)

Hei! Yeps, that just a mistake. Thanks for pointing it out! 🙂 You now have one typo point.
